I want a toucan!!

I've loved toucans for years, and a recent trip to the zoo has cemented the desire to own one of my own! Unfortunately I'll have to wait a couple years until I move back to Canada to get one, but I want to start researching the whole owning one thing first.

I'm mostly interested in how they would get along with other animals... namely cats and rabbits? Would a toucan get along ok on its own? I'm thinking during the day while at work... do they get like parrots and start pulling their feathers out if left alone for too long? Are they ok to be left out of the cage while you're out (probably not around cats, but just on their own?) i know that they can't chew things like parrots, but is there any other trouble that they can get into?

also, how widely available are they? i've searched the net and found a few breeders, but all are in the southern US. since i'll be living in canada when i get one, are there any breeders around there (toronto area probably), or has anyone tried to import a toucan into canada from the states? i'm mostly interested in either a toco or a keel-billed.
