I have an Eastern Rosella- she is about 8 years old. They love to fly- thats one thing. the bigger the cage the better.
I have found limited info on these birds- they apparently are not massively popular. my little girl is a sweetie (most of the time).
She loves anything green to eat- broccoli, brussel sprouts, grapes, spinach, etc. Just no avacado. Her favourite treat (besides cheese) is apple. Loves a wedge cut off. Sunflowers. Sprouts. Pellets and good old seed in there too. She has just discovered peas in the pod this year. You get the idea.
They really do love flying- we have built her cages over the years out of 1" hardware cloth (chicken wire) and then we can afford ROOM.
Right now she is in a round cage that is about 3' across and about 4' high, with a 'penthouse' up top for emergency vet visits, etc. last week we built her an outdoor aviary- 8'x3'x3' connected to her inside cage by a tunnel through the window.
I understand they are happiest outside and with lots of room but she has been inside for these 8 yrs and Ok with it. I must say with the new space though, this is one happy bird.
They love to bath, as well. Alot.
