Outdoor green space for Echo the E. Rosella. Is grass OK?

I have built an aviary on the outside of my house for my little sweetie to fly around in. She is almost 8 years old and adapted to the new space (and connector tunnel) instantly.

I have planted a shallow 'tray' garden for her. One tree/ bush (Delavay Osmanthus) some thyme, parsley and baby's tears (grouncover). Of course a 12" pool, as well.

The main 'green' comes from good old fashioned sod. Thats where I worry. I am concerned about the chemicals used for cutworm and leatherjackets. I am told no sod is free from these poisons. Can I succesfully grow them out? Has anyone had any experience with this? Supposedly, these sprays would have been done last November but noone was willing to put that in writing.

Right now I am just growing it- she has no access.

Thanks in advance for any help, hints or warnings.

Shauna
