Hi ,
I am considering buying a apir of Mealy Rosellas and the problem is the fella that owned has passed away and the wife doesn't know too much about the birds. There are four all together and there was a fifth one dead in the avairy. Now there was one proven pair and two 1 year olds and then i think an extra hen.How can I visually tell males from females, if the dead one might have been the male or maybe the extra female?the tow young are in a seperate flight so they are easy.Do the hens have faint white spots under their wings? When I was ctaching up the Crimsons the male had jet black wings and the hen had faint white spots. There is also another Crimson X with faint white bars and it is 2years old and banded.Would that be a hen?
Thank you,Nicole
