New to Rosellas, any info would help.

My fiancee and I are considering purchasing a blue cheeked Rosella from a local pet store. We have since bought several books on Rosellas and Australian parakeets. Several other questions are still unanswered. What is the average life span? What is a normal price for a male. The one we are considering buying is a hair under $700. I have experience in cockatiels and am learning as much as possible about this species before the final buying decision is made. Any help is greatly appreciated.
