a few months ago I received some helpful info about my pet emu. He is doing very well and I enjoy him very much. I have been feeding him Emu pellets (1 12oz coffecan twice a day) and he is thriving. He has a kiddie pool which he enjoys on very hot days (I live in florida) and I give him showers with the hose. I never had a problem with him until a week ago when my feed store changed their feed company. I bought a bag of ratite pellets and he has not eaten it for 3 days. So I went 25 mi to get him the emu pellets he always liked, but he is still eating only very little compared to what he ate the past 3 months, maybe 1/2 of the amount. He does not seem to be in any distress, but I'm worried. Can anyone help me and give me an idea what is going on? I love that silly big bird, someone told me that they eat more certain times of the year and less at other times due breeding/hatching season. I think he is a male, but I'm not sure. I would be grateful for any info or ideas. Thanks, Maxie
