A friend gave me a tame emu or rhea, he thinks it's a rhea. I enclosed the area with 5'non-climb wire and topboard, totalling almost 6' and built him a 8x8 shelter. I live in Florida, how does the bird fare with high temps and lows in winter? What is the visible difference between Rhea and Emu? I hear emu and rheas would get along together, if I decide to give the bird a companion. But what about if they are 2 boys or 2 girls or if it is one of each and one would be an emu and one a Rhea? Would they interbreed and then what? The bird I'm getting is sort of tame, you can pet him and he lays down when you put your hand on his back. Anything I should know or watch out for? Thanks for any info, I want to do the right thing. Maxie
