:I noticed Marty had a purple spot on her beak about a week ago...

There is a picture of my beejee's beak booboo on this page http://community.webshots.com/album/54935937ZPsMAp
I am not a vet nor did I go to a vet but I did have some experienced avian vet techs look at the photo and they assured me it was just a bruise.

Beejee had no trouble eating - acted as if it didn't bother him at all. One vet tech explained it was kinda like a bruise under your fingernail - it will grow out. I think it took a week or so for that to happen.

Upon seeing the photo, other bird people contacted me telling me stories of how a toy came back and popped their birds in the beak and bruised it and they were fine or a cage mate got too rowdy and caused a wound like that.

I'm all for going to a vet with any concerns!! I felt like I had a fine diagnosis online and could see beejee wasn't having any trouble.

Please let us know what happens wtih Marty!
