MEYERS PARROT

Hi--I'm glad I found this site! I just purchased a Meyers Parrot one month ago. He hatched at the end of May and he's a doll. I know it's a he because when we took him to the vet we got him DNA tested. I have a 'crop' question. I pet Rocky all over the place. He likes to be petted under his chin, under his wings and of course the top of his head. For the first time yesterday as I was petting him under his chin I felt a bump at the base of his throat where I know from all the books I've read is where his crop is. My question is can you feel it on any of your Meyers. It's not large but feels kind of like an adams apple. I've read about crop impaction and therefore I'm probably just nervous. Rocky is acting like normal, eating and pooping like normal and there isn't a foul odor coming from his mouth. Without knowing whether you should be able to feel it, it's hard to tell whether I have anything to worry about and I don't want to be an alarmist and drive 1 hour to the closest avian vet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
