Are phesants sometimes kept for pets?

Are phesants sometimes kept for pets? Or to lay eggs like chickens?? I know phesants are game birds and are for eatin' but I was just wondeing if there was any other use for them? I think they're cute myself! (Sorry... I think cows are cute too! LoL)
