Neat! I've only seen phesants once... I went to a baby shower or something that was held next to a game researve... They had TONS of the little buggers crammed into this outdoor aviary. :(
They were very pretty... Didn't look to smart, but neither are chickens and I've always wanted some laying hens. :)
Hope your son has good luck with 4H! I sure wish I knew that was around when I was young... I think I would have enjoyed it!
And good luck with your phesants! I enjoyed hearing about them!

: We bought 1 male and 2 females, and have them as "pets". I guess a lot of people eat'em, but they are just beautiful creatures, and the males are so pretty. Our one son is 9 and he is joining 4h, and he plans on showing them. They don't make much noise, but are kind of skittish little creatures.
