Peacock with hurt leg - need advice

I have a peacock who apparently hurt his leg. He is not wanting to put weight on the foot and hops around with his good foot. I examined the pads of the foot to see if it could be bumblefoot, but I'm not an expert on what it feels like. The bad foot pad may be a bit more swollen, but not bad. The vets around here are not much help with peafowl. I have him and his mate in a spacious cage so they are not bothered. He is eating and drinking well. Any suggestions on what I can do for him? Or what might be the matter? Thanks in advance.
