Yes, as zukimud has said, it is easier to practice this away from the cage. They are territorial about their cage and you need to practice this in a quiet, safe place at first. Aprroach him confidently while talking to him HEAD ON, where he can see your finger approaching. Do NOT show fear. You have to let him know that YOU are in charge (lol, even though mine melts my heart big time!). One thing though, instead of a "mad" voice, it's more of a "stern" voice, just to let them know that YOU are in charge. Like he said, they are headstrong little creatures and need to be talked to and reminded often, especially the young ones. It's part of their discipline, training, and will make life easier for both of you in years to come. They will keep testing you though, lol, they are SMART! Remember to reward good behaviors with lots of head scritches, they LOVE those. Nothing is cuter than seeing those little dandelion heads turn round and round with their eyes closed in sheer pleasure! :)))))
Good Luck! and let us know how it's going.

:Any advice for me to "re"-train him on the up command?
:Thanks - LTN
