When I trained Bob, I took him into a quiet room with absolutely no distractions and shut the door (my bedroom). I sat on the bed with him on my finger, looked at him eye to eye, and started just having a normal converstaion with him like he was my wife sitting there. I did this for about 10-15 minutes and he was very concentrated on my face and my expressions. I then started to very slowly move my other finger towards him the whole time talking very softly and telling him "here comes the step-up finger". As I got closer to him he started to open his beak like he was warning me that he was going to bite me. When he did this I gave him the snarly face and told him in a mad but quiet voice that he was not to bite. Do not pull your finger back because I think to him he is winning then. I did this over and over again until he stepped up on my other finger and then praised him with smiles and happy sounds. If you do this over and over I guarantee that he will become a nice bird. Keep in mind that they are still very strong willed and will have to be reminded time to time who is the boss.
