Thank you both for your replies. Per your advice, I tried talking to my Nhoc as I approach the case. He is less defensive and less like to snap at my finger now. However, my "up" command is futile. He tends to run away from my finger. As I place my finger up against his chest, he just walks right over it. However, if he is sitting on a perch (as opposed to standing on the floor of the cage), he is more likely to obey the "up" command.
Any advice for me to "re"-train him on the up command?
