Hello.
I recently got my first bird, Koma who is a Pacific green Parrotlet boy. He is absolutely adorable except for the times when he nips. However, his nipping is not that hard, although I am trying to teach him to stop nipping.
I am also having a hard time getting him down from my shoulder and teach him how to sit on a finger (step-up command).
Many articles regarding Parrotlet training explains how to train a Parrotlet to sit on a perch or a finger when he is sitting on something else. However, no article talks about how to get the bird down from the shoulder and get him staying on the spot so that I can bring my finger towards the bird.
If anyone has similar experience and has resolved the problem or expertises in Parrotlet training, please give me some advice.
Lastly, I am looking for a reliable and trustful bird supply shops online.
I have chosen to feed my Parrotlet who is about 3 months old the followings:
1. Higgins Safflower Gold
2. Harrisons Fine Pellet
3. Scott Petamine Nestline Formular or Abba's Nestline Formula (which brand would be better?)
4. Millets
5. Mineral Block
6. Cuttle Bone
7. Parrotlet Take Out Food
8. Some greens, vegetables, fruits, etc
To buy 1~6, I need to find some reliable bird supply shops.
I also need to buy some preening and chewing toys.
If you know some good stores on web, please recommend me some.
