Mine do that too, but they also eat some of it. I'd just keep trying with him if I were you. Maybe introduce one food at a time, to see which ones he's eating. You can also make a "birdy bread" and sneak some fruit and veggies in him that way.
Let us know how's he's doing.
I have 2 parrotlets, a male and a female. Great little birds, love em lots!
