hi everyone. I usually post on the reptiles forums as i keep a few snakes and a water monitor lizard and this is my first time posting here.

I was thinking of purchasing a macaw. I don't know much about them at the moment so I want to do all my research first. What i do know is that they live a very long time (I may have to pass them down to my children in my will). I know that they need companionship and a lot of interaction.

Is there any good resources on the internet you can direct me to for more information?

My wife and I both work so I was thinking that getting 2 would be better so they can keep each other company.

What could be possible difficulties that we would have to overcome with a macaw? What kind of things should we take into consideration?

I was thinking of constructing a large closet sized enclosure for them with a glass front because I would rather not put them in a cage.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Baz
