I just adopted a macaw yesterday, even though it looked like a distressed bird i wasn't gonna give up on it. So i bring it into my house, and this bird is truly from hell. It wont even let me put my hand in his cage to try to feed it, without trying to bite my finger off!!! It has this defensive stance it makes whenever anyone gets near, it squaks and starts spreading its wings. At this point I am terified, i naturally thought that macaws needed to make contac with people, but this macaw just wants to be alone. This macaw is red, and about five years old. So what should i do?
