:We have decided to bring home a Hahn's Macaw. What size cage does he (?) need? Are there any special diet needs?

Congrats on your new baby! We have two hahns macaws, Peanut (2) and Peabody (6) and they are fun to watch! I'd recommend a minimum of a 24X24 cage with no more than 3/4" bar spacing--hahns macaws are very active birds. I feed mine Harrisons pellets as the base of their diet, and they also get some seeds and nuts, fresh vegetables (cooked sweet potatoes are their favorite), and a cooked bean/grain/pasta/vegetable mix.

Good Luck!
Sharon
