Quarantine, quarantine, quarantine. Put any new birds in a seperate room for a minimum of three months. After the vet says OK, then place the new bird in a cage beside the old one. After one month, put both birds in a LARGE unfamiliar cage together and supervise them for a couple of days. Baby lovebirds are too fragile to be placed with an adult bird. They'll be killed for sure. Wait until its a bit older.
:hello. i have a peach faced lovebird on layaway to give the one i have now a friend. i was suposed to get it on saturday but all their birds are in quarinteen. on other bird has a bacterial infection and they are treating all the birds. they are suposed to be well in 1-2 weeks. i know that when you are going to put two lovebirds together you need to put them in different cages w/ about a 1 in. space between them. hhow long does it usually take for them to get used to each other? how can you tell?
:thanks to all
