No, both males and females will masturbate. Male peachface are not as aggressive, and will sometimes feed perches, and toys. Females do not regurgitate food.
Two keys to sex are:
If it lays an egg it is obviously a female, and if it regurgitates food to another peachface, it is a male.
Breeding is also not an indication of sex as homosexuality is common with lovebirds. Two females will pair, copulate and lay about ten infertile eggs together in a nest. Two males will copulate, and sit in the nest together with no eggs.
