: Hi there :-)

: I feed our lorikeets a wide selection every day of fruit and vegetables, however if grapes are on the menu I pick all the seeds out first. (the African Grey is keen to take these)

: Dry mix is a must, as is fresh nectar mix. I take the commercial nectar mix and add organic baby food, spirulina, fruit juice and anything else I think they need, ie vitamins.

: Lots and lots of fresh water for them to play in, I've never seen them drink their bath water yet ;-)

: Definitely under NO circumstances would I feed pellets or anything to bind them up. I've seen too many sick lories that were fed what suited the owner, never mind the bird.

: Hope that helps :-)

I get a lot of calls regarding sweet Lories that have all of a sudden become very aggressive. After evaluating many cases it seems that many Lory owners are feeding their birds too much fruit juice that has a high sugar content. If you find this happening, cut back on the juice and you will probably see your darling bird back to its normal self. bobbi Colorado
