Honey is not good for birds as it can harbor bacteria (same as its a no-no for babies) You could use a sugar water solution like with hummers, but would need to take any un-eatten bread away after a few hours. I'm assuming this isn't the ONLY thing you are feeding the lorikeets, as this isn't a good diet. You could also try soaking the bread in fruit juice (100% apple?)
: I feed 20 -30 rainbow lorikeets a day with bread and water. Is it OK to sweeten the mixture with honey, and if so, what is a recommended strength?
