My 11-year old female has a rather large mass on the side of her body, under the wing. I noticed it only because when it got big enough, she couldn't tuck her wing close to her body anymore.

It hasn't slowed her down any. She still eats, plays, etc as normal. The vet took a needle aspirate which she thought looked good, but the lab said it was non-diagnostic.

So, tomorrow we are doing pre-surgical bloodwork, and when that comes back, we'll schedule surgery.

The weird thing is that it is fairly large, about an 3cm by maybe 1.5cm, and it sticks out about 1cm and it is hard. It doesn't appear to be a lipoma. She thought maybe it could be a feather cyst that went nuts, but she won't be able to even tell if it's operable until she gets in there.

Just wondered if anyone else had run across something similar?
