The weather was finally warm this past weekend so we took our new friend to see a lady with LOTS of bird experience. SHe told us our bird is probably much older than 4 years, probably well over 10, maybe 20, no biggie for us, we like the parrot. We were also advised to give her a bath ASAP. We knew no better but apperantly she had not had a bath in a long time. We have only had her 3 weeks, but I would guess it has been much longer than that. So we gave her a bath. Other suggestions were to start some 'play time' on the floor to help with the bonding process. Our first seesion went well. The thing that has us the most confused is her comments about gender. She thought the bird we were told is female, looked and behaved more like a male. This was based on how he or she sat on the perch, the shape of his or her head, and the fact the there is no end to the talking. Any truth to any of this? Also, if we can manage to read the info on the leg band, is it possible to find out who the breeder could have been and potentially look up some records regarding birthdate and gender?
Thanks for the help,
Cham
