Something else occurred to me. I have noticed that my grey seems to know who is afraid of him and who isn't. He will willingly get on the hand of a complete stranger who confidently puts his finger up to the bird and gives the "UP" command. But if someone is timid about approaching the bird, the bird will senses it and withdraws.
