It's not unusual for a baby parrot to regress a little when first going to a new home. Are you sure he's not eating? It's not unusual for greys to waste a lot of food (and head shaking is normal too). The best way to know for sure if he's eating is to get a gram scale and weigh him daily (make sure you weigh him at the same time every day). If he's losing weight, get him to an avian vet ASAP. Even if he is eating, it's a good idea to take him to a vet for a new bird check-up. That way your vet has a baseline for him so if there ever is an emergency, the vet has a starting point.
Good luck!

:I have a baby grey that is 6months old and was fully weaned but reverted back to handfeeding when I got him. He puts all kinds of different foods in his mouth but doesn't seem to eat it. He just tastes it, breaks it into pieces and shakes his head. Is this normal grey behavior, should I still handfeed him? How can I insure that he is eating enough?
