I am a new owner of a 5 month old Grey. I bought him from a local breeder after spending a couple of hours getting to know him. He is great. I have a couple questions.

I currently have him in a 24" X 24" cage. I know this is too small and plan to buy him a new home asap. What type of cage and size is best suited for him. I read that a 24" X 36" is the best. I like the California cages but want to find the best one for the new member of the family.

I bought a rope with some colored wooden blocks on it for him. In order to ensure that it was clean I soaked it hot water and noticed that there was a lot of dye running of of it. Is this OK?
