If you see something unusual from a bird after a visit to the vet, you need to call the vet ASAP and ask about it. It's not unheard of for greys to bleed from their eyes during a stressful vet exam--it happened to our timneh once--but the eyes should not continue to have problems afterward.
Birds that were raised as breeders can become pets, but it takes a lot of time and patience.

:I have some more information on my Grey. I have talked with the previous owner and it seems this one was raised to be a breeder. It probably has been in an aviary for some time with no interaction with humans. Will this pose a problem? He growls at us all the time and we cannot even think of picking him up. We took him to have his wings clipped and he got some sores around his eyes. He ahs been scratching at one eye and it seems to be shut more than the other and reddish. Could the vet have injured his eye and what should I do? Thanks for all the advice.
