:My finches have had like eight litters and they never make it, its like mom doesnt take care of them or care. One time they made it about four weeks and I moved the nest closer to the bottom(they were falling out alot of the time too) well guess what they still fell out and still died from falling out, any suggestions? I feel awful when this happens.

I'm so sorry about your babies. What are you using for a nest? It could be the nest isn't deep enough to keep them in. I use a nestbox with mine, and haven't had any fall out yet. They are relatively inexpensive, around $5, and you should be able to find them at most local pet stores. They can also be cleaned out and used over and over again unlike some of the other nests I've seen out there. Are you sure they are falling out and the parents aren't pushing them out?
I know what you're going through though, my babies don't live for very long either. The first baby they had hatch the parents mutilated and the last one lived for about a week after she left the nest. During that time I had to separate her from her parents since they both had started plucking her, and had to handfeed her and wean her myself. Unfortunately the parents knew something I didn't, and that was she wouldn't live for much longer. Before that I went through several clutches with them that never hatched even though they were fertile. I kept wondering if it was something I was doing wrong, but I know it wasn't since my budgies breed very successfully. Nick and Noel were and still are bad parents, and no matter what I do it isn't going to change that. They, like a lot of other living beings, have to learn how to be good parents. Shoot for all I know they may never be good parents no matter how much experience they have, and it comes from how their parents interacted with them and their siblings.
So don't beat yourself up about it. I know it hurts to see the little ones like that go before they have had a chance to really experience life, but these things happen for a reason. In the wild only the fittest survive, and it's no different in our homes. Just give your finches and yourself a break for several months and recondition them before letting them try again. Good luck!
