Talk to your vet about whether flax oil and corn oil would help. My bird is having problems with her liver and it is supposed to help with her itching. I would assume that your bird is itchy if she is biting herself. I don't remember what the mixture is..mostly corn oil. But is seems to be helping.......thought I would mention it
