when my ducks eggs were hatching we had to help 8 of the 9 eggs, hatch, after we got them out they would just lay there and rest, it took them 2 days to learn to stand, then walking, they were eating by 10 hours old, just make sure you wear gloves, or wash your hands really good if you ever need to help ducklings out
anything that maybe on your hands could infect the baby and therefor kill it, while helping them out, dont touch the inner membrane, blood vessles could get cut and the chick would be losing blood, just let the baby slide out,
as the other poster said humidity is a must!
the more there is the better, if the membrane is seperating from the shell, and it white and leathery looking you need to help the chick, it should only take 10-15 hours for a chick to hatch, my ducklings were in their egg shells for 26 hours,
and dont be shy about tearing the little chips the babies break off, the membrane is already cut off of that part
dont worry about the yolk, is it's yellow with a little white spot on it, thats it's butt.. it's normal and shoul go away by one day old(although there may still be a bump there)
hope that helps!
