Not an expert or anything, but outside cats can be a danger to any wild bird.

In my experience, most wild birds are aware of the dangers, and usually act accordingly. But that is not to say there won't be any mishaps. I'm sure there are ways you can make it harder on the cats to get at the birds.

Hopefully others will have some good ideas for you.
