Our next door neighbor has 8 pigeons that he says are his pets. They have no bands..and he does not race them. The coop is about 8 feet from our property line. When he lets them out, they fly in circles around out house...not his..or any other. When they roost, they roost on our roof, for an hour or two at a time...not his...nor their coop roof. We have skylights...they seem to be fascinated wiht pecking at the flashing....and their poop is a real stand-out on our black roof..especially since we are in a drought.
My question is, can they be trained to roost on their coop..or their owners roof...not mine? If so, how can I do this, since their owner is not? Also..does the placement of the coop have something to do with where they decide to fly and roost? In other words, since the coop is so close to my house, do they think my house is an extension of their coop? If so...why don't they roost on their own coop...or their owners roof? Any light that anyone can shed on this is appreciated. :-)
