I recently moved into a new apartment so it would make sense that that is why he is acting out. I also moved his cage into the living area so he is closer to all the action in hopes that he behaves better. Thanks for the advice - he already seems to be doing better.
:Sometimes changes in the home will cause this type of behavior. Something as simple as rearranging the room or moving the cage can trigger it. Just try to be patient and give lots of positive reinforcement until it passes. Let him know that screaming doesnt get his way.. but nice behaving birdie does. Ignore his unruly behavior.. or give him very short time outs in his cage until he is calm. Pay him attention when he his good. It could just be a phase hes going thru.. testing his limitations, or a change in the home caused this. If you have any concerns that it might be health related I would contact your avian vet and ask him/her about it.
:I really do not think its hormonal due to the age. If he were closer to 2 yrs old.. then I would say hormones.
:Good luck :)
