Well, the first concern would be for the safety of the conure. The bird will need several hours out of the cage time per day and the cat could pose a threat. If the cat, attacks, scratches or even licks the bird, its very dangerous. Most people do not know that Cat saliva can be deadly to parrots.
Cats are amazingly clever creatures and the threat of the cat injuring the bird through the bars of the cage is a possibilty as well. Cats have even been known to open cages.
Some homes do have both cats and parrots that live together without incident but I would think they would always have to be very closely supervised. Hope this Helps!
