:Sounds like your bird is becoming hormonal. This is the normal season for this behavior. My advice is try to distract this behavior with toys.Keep the bird busy and offer lots of variety of playthings in the cage, switching them often to keep the interest. I wouldnt give any type of negative attention, nor would I laugh, or show any type of emotion when this behavior occurs. Distraction is the best method when the bird is out with you. The season will pass shortly, and your bird will return to "normal". Try to be patient and ignore the behavior as much as you can.
:As far as the Nanday is concerned, if you are worried about the bird being injured, You could always place the birds side by side in 2 separate cages until this season passes. This way they can still socialize, but the danger level is no longer a concern.
