:WOW!!! Congratulations on your new family member! She just "gave" him to you? Did she give you his cage and everything too? Did she say why she wanted to get rid of him? He sounds pretty cool :) Will try to help with anything you need. I found it helpful to read through alot of old posts and got some good ideas that way too. Phil 4:13 is one of my favorites too!

The lady did give him to us, yes "gave" him to us-cool! She said she is going through personal problems(stress CA style) & couldn't give him the attention he needs. I had a cage in the garage that I've been holding on to for about 10 years-had an African Grey for awhile(sold her w/o cage). She had another bird that she was going to use the cage for. She said that bird doesn't need the attention this one does. I've been scrolling the post & getting alot of info-also did a "google" search on cockatoo-alot of info out there!!!
