:Is there any way to tell the age of a male cockatoo? I have recently gotten what I think is an older bird, but would like to know for sure.

Hi, I just read your post. I have a greater sulfer that is 16 yrs old. I have had him since he was three and he looks pretty much the same as he did when I purchased him. I don't think most vets would be able to determine age unless they specialized in sulfers. I would imagine that unless you have been exposed to a large number of the same species of birds at different ages frequently it would probably be very difficult to guess. I might be wrong but sulfers can live 75yrs or more and may not show normal aging for some time.
