:How often do you all go have your cockatoo's nails trimmed? Seems like we no more than get them trimmed by the vet and they're digging into us again. That's so expensive! Also, is there a certain time of the year that they will grow out quicker? Was thinking maybe if there is, we just somehow get them trimmed just before their season to grow faster>???? We trim nails ourselves. Both my umbies like a large emory board. Ingrid will even hold her foot out when she sees the emory board! When nails start feeling sharp, out comes the emory board, but it doesn't seem to be very often...a variety of different types of wood perches does seem to help.
