:Another year of hormonal behavior, our 15 year old Male Sulfer Crested is starting his horney, bitey, screamy season again God love him. Tolouse is my best Bud love him like a Brother as does Tolouse, But my poor Fiance' He sure takes it out on Her the Most good thing she loves him just as much as I do. we adopted him 3 years ago from a Sancuary and look forward to many more years of fun. Anyone else have a older Cockatoo?
I have two umbies, both female. One is approximately 12-13 years old, the other about 8-9 years old. The elder one, Ingrid, is as laid back as one could possibly imagine. I mean, no screaming, no excessive chewing, definitely not the typical 'too. The younger, Angel, is a ball of hormones! Screams, chews everything in site, a very stereotypical 'too. She is also very bonded to me, so much so that when hubby comes home (he works out of town so only *visits*) she chases him away from me, then gets mad at me for spending time with him. So, when hubby comes home for a visit, I put her on Bach's Rescue Remedy, it has calmed her down enough that they actually enjoy each other's company.
I don't know that I would put a bird on it all the time, unless under the supervision of an (holistic) avain vet. But for the short visits, it has worked for us.
