Last night pepper laid another egg.

The shell seemed a little thicker this time.

Question: When a bird is laying an egg once the egg is in the pelvic region (the softer part around their vent... Um where the breast bone ends and there is an opening...) is it supposed to go through right away... I mean if you can feel the egg does that mean she is bond?

I got the impression that it is a bad sign if you can feel the egg and it isn't coming out real fast..

This time she laid it without any signs of distress.
She wasn't breathing hard. However she does frantically call to me all day right b4 she lays an egg. I just knew it this time. She was unbelievably vocal yesterday and I knew that meant an egg was coming. She doesn't dry or anything she cat calls and wolf whistles incessantly...

Is that a sign of distress?
