okay, this is almost like a soap oprea. Now the chicken coop is done without the building permit. This is a very small town and one of the members told me when it was turned down that I should build it anyway; like what is the city going to do? I have made a brooder inside the chicken coop by placing a circle of almost 18 inch card board. Directly under the light is 102 but almost 2 inches outside the direct cirle of light it drops to 85 or 75 according to the outside temperature. The circle is almost 4 foot wide and almost 6 foot long, I am considering putting two heat lamps out there just to be safe since I do live in a very cold climate. This weekend we are expecting snow for a brief period of time. So do I need to bring the light up so that direcly under the light is 95 degrees and use both lights or keep it where it is. It is right at 18 inches from the floor. Thanks for any information. I just want the little bantams to be alright after getting them here. I have read the books but experience is sometimes better. :)
