I have six silkies. I used to have modern game bantams, too. They were my favorites, they were so active and fun to watch, but still super tame. They even used to let me turn them on their backs in my hand, and lay that way! The silkies are fun, too, and very calm, but not as much fun as the moderns IMO.

Chicks aren't hard to raise so long as they stay warm enough and out of drafts, and you make sure they're eating and drinking when you get them home. Good luck!
