Mike,
This is a very common question for Caique owners. I have own Pikachu for 4 years now & your question was my question when he was about a year old too. I received many, many answers so before I answer I have a few questions for you. Did your Caique strike quick and hard like a defensive ATTACK or biting with some pressure with an almost "gnawingness" twisting? If the answer is the latter I assure you that if you protest to your Caique at the exact moment of the gnawing it will establish limits to the amount of pressure and if your protests continue than the pressure will eventually turn into a "taste" of your skin. I also found that observing what Pikachu does NOT like (being locked in his cage during the day) and protesting to him in a firm voice and then locking him in his cage makes him want to apologize quicker than anything else I tired. Also, Caiques get bored easily so if they get tired of the toys they have or not enough time out of the cage or a change in their diet could cause "restless" behavior. I know that birds don't like large vibrations, but I find that Pikachu is extremely adverse to vibrations on outwardly displays protests to anyone causing them (our son's friend stomping up & down our stairs) even if it means seeking the cause & offensively/physically attacking. I am realizing now that I have researched and observed my Pikachu a little too much maybe. ("?") I could go on for hours and should probably be seeking work as an avian freelance writer or something. I hope the information helps you & feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions.
