:Does anyone KNOW if a hybrid between a Double Yellow-head
:and a Mealy is possible? I have a female Double Yellow-Head
:(laid 2 infertile eggs years ago). Since then, I acquired
:a sex-unknown Mealy. The female acts sex-crazy so I built
:her a nest box. She stays in it 95% of the time and has
:built a nest from scraping the walls. The two parrots seem
:to do mating acts but I am no expert on that. The female seems
:to have a distended stomach but that may just be wishful
:thinking on my part. Any solid info would be appreciated.
:Thank-you.

What you don't mention is if these two birds are housed in the same cage together, which I'm assuming is the case. Hybridizing is discouraged as it will "water down" the gene pool.

If these two are housed in the same cage, I would suggest getting them seperate cages, and keeping close supervision on out of cage time.
