ROFLMAO!!!! I'm with you, I LOVE my castiron cookware...not to mention I don't ever have to worry about that stuff peeling off and eeeeew eating it!!

::So....two questions here......

::Should we stop using it, or does it take more than just a frying pan to create a dangerous situation?

:Teflon when heated will emit a toxic fume which is dangerous to humans as well as birds. The difference is that birds have a much more delicate breathing system than we do, thus they are more readily affected.

::And...

::Can anyone recommend a good cookware (that isn't teflon coated) that won't make my eggs stick to the pan? LOL
::(sounds silly, but I am serious ;-)

:Personally, I have used cast iron for years, long before I even had birds. A well seasoned cast iron pan is much better than any non-stick coated pan I have ever tried. And they come in a multitude of sizes -- omlet to dutch oven. If there's an intruder, my 15" cast iron *skillet* will do some serious damage! ;-)
