Parrots and Teflon

We have had parrots for many years. We lost them in a house fire a few months ago and have recently (one week ago) gotten a new baby double yellow nape. I have heard of the dangers of self-cleaning ovens, so we never had one, nor do we plan on getting one anytime soon. My mother (it is actually her bird) had read that even a simple teflon frying pan could be dangerous. We had always cooked with non-stick surfaced cookware and never had a problem. My Pickles actually stayed in the kitchen, approximately 18ft away from the stove. Never a problem. Molly (the new baby) is in a small trailer with us, til we rebuild. She is about 5ft away from the stove. We have been typically using non-stick cookware since she arrived, and now we are worried that we shouldn't be.

So....two questions here......

Should we stop using it, or does it take more than just a frying pan to create a dangerous situation?

And...

Can anyone recommend a good cookware (that isn't teflon coated) that won't make my eggs stick to the pan? LOL
(sounds silly, but I am serious ;-)

Thanks for any info.

Rose
