I have a yellow headed Amason. I dont know how old he is, we got him from an older lady that couldnt take care of him any more. This was about 3 years are. Well latley Jake the amazon will not let me pick him up. He will go to the top of his cage and climb on my shoulder. I trust my bird very much and I have been bite but I am not afaid of it. when we first go time I could pick him up anytime I wanted now I almost have to force him up and that stresses him out so if I want to play with him it takes me about and hour to get him back in the cage he is a very stubborn bird I think thats why I love him so much. But the problem with him not leting me handle him is keeping me from takeing him out as much and thats not far to him. So is there anything I can do to make him want to be picked up? Thanks for any help
